I started researching them, too, when I saw the one go up on eBay. I know that George Maxwell was a wheelright and loom builder, and Peter Collingwood's memoirs indicate that he had a Maxwell loom early in his career--and knew George, too. I've seen a number of them on a UK loom sale site, but rarely here. I was intrigued by the eBay loom because of the Collingwood connection and its 12(!) shafts, but haven't had any response to queries I made to the seller regarding details. I retrieved the 3 pictures shown in the listing and formatted them so they were much clearer. I'll pass on that particular loom, but I'd also like to know about Maxwell looms, if anyone can share information.
