Have you thought about an eight harness loom with rear hinges for the treadles? That might solve the weight issue for you. I have a Schacht floor loom that I love to weave on, but you are right about the weight of the shafts. I have thought about upgrading myself, but I just don't have the space in my house for a mammoth countermarche loom!
