Dear Beth, Thanks for your thoughtful suggestion of the Maryland festival. I'm sure that it would be totally helpful to see the array of choices in person and all in one spot! However I am not a good traveler and in addition my husband Steve and I are in the midst of proving to ourselves that we can do without traveling about in cars if we had to. We have had our car parked in the garage since Thanksgiving and are enjoying this very much. We did the same thing last winter, from November 5 until May 15. We live in a town of 2000 and can easily get the basics for daily living right here, except that we get the majority of our natural foods from our food co-op buying club which delivers right to our town. We have a terrific library here plus our little town is on a very pretty lake. Steve tools around on his bike and I have an awesome power wheel chair that goes 8 miles an hour. We put 800 miles on our car last year and we're going to try for 0 miles this year. I'm sure if it weren't so much fun we wouldn't be doing this but the truth is that it is WONDERFUL. If we have to or want to we can go places within our county on the bus which can haul me in my power chair. Just gotta go in the AM is all. This is all certainly off the subject of spinning wheels!!! but it explains why I won't be going to Wisconsin anytime soon. One of these days I will have an electric car and will travel around with joy!!!
