Wendy,
I have been using a Schacht double treadle Matchless for about 5 years and love it. However, I recently started using a friend's Kromski Polonaise and am so delighted with it that I am ordering one for myself. This wheel is a single treadle, but very comfortable to spin for long periods of time. It has both Scotch tension(which I use on my Schacht) and double tension, which I am using on the Kromski and, to my surprise, find works very well. It is a wonderfull spinning wheel and at the very reasonable price is beautifully made. All parts are beautifully turned wood with some metal and leather in all the right places. Very traditional looking and smooth spinning. Hope this helps with your decision. Will look forward to seeing which wheel you choose. Like children, and grandchildren, all spinning wheels are beautiful.
