I've tried bamboo, ingeo and soy silk.

I found soy silk to be very tangly and difficult to work with un-blended. Do not try to do an Andean plying bracelet, it will rip all the tiny hairs off your wrist. owch.

Also, it seems to take on the crimp characteristic of whatever fibre you blend it with, smooth with silk, crimpy with merino etc.

bamboo was weird, sort of hard and plastic-y in singles but then got softer and hairy when plyed.

Ingeo smelled like corn syrup when it was brand new but the smell faded eventually :o( very soft fibre, not as tangly as soy.

haven't done much dying with them yet, but soy seems to accept colour the best.
