WINDING THE FRAME: A "chart" is given for each design instruction. Tie a different colored string around the "A" side (the beginning side) of the loom. The winding is begun by using a slip knot to begin the winding by placing that loop around the first specified prong(indicated by an arrow on each chart) usually on the side nearest you (the "A" side)and extending the string across the frame to a specific prong on the opposite side. These two prongs are called a "PAIR". Wind as many times around each PAIR of prongs as specified in your instructions. (Four times will make 8 threads between prongs, Six times will make 12, etc.). After winding is completed on 1st pair of prongs, take thread to OUTSIDE of frame to the LEFT (clockwise) and wind around the specific next pair of prongs, parallel to 1st pair. When this has been repeated across the frame, carry the thread around the corner and repeat the winding in a second direction across the frame. Then, in a third direction. Windings in 3 directions is called a ROUND. After the threads have been wound according to directions given for the design, they are tied together at their "intersection" to make a complete article. An "INTERSECTION" is any place lines of threads cross. In some instances there may be on 2 lines in an intersection, in others there may be as many as 6 lines.
