Hi. I am getting a gift of a lifetime. A friend called and said I could have a 16 shaft dobby loom for FREE.
Problem: no room for two looms in my house.
My loom is a Kyra (made Springville, NY, 1980's). It is an 8-shaft, 10 treadle, 45" loom, crafted in solid cherry, and in very good condition. It works well, but I have had to put a brick on top of the tension lever, as it needs a new spring, but it still holds tension very very well. Some scratches here and there, and the usual nicks and dings. Metal heddles included, as is the loom bench that goes with the loom. A nice piece of furniture! High castle with really nice storage tray. Tie up is easy. Jack mechanism. Reeds NOT included, as I will need them for my new loom.
Available for pickup only. You will need two people and a truck. The loom folds, but that's about it. I live close to Rochester, NY.
$1200 or best offer.
I hope this loom finds a good home. I will take pics if you want, but haven't had the chance to do so yet.
