I have the Ashford 16H loom, 24" wide. It was quite a project to assemble, but the instructions are good (very few words, mostly pictures).
I find it easy enough to warp. I tried my back to front method (a bit tricky to manage lease the lease sticks), and I tried the Ashford method, which seems sacriligious to put tape on the beautiful wood to hold down the warp ends for threading.
Both methods got the loom warped.
I use pressure clamps to hold it to a small craft table.
It's noisier than my floor looms, either because the levels clack when flipped up, or the harnesses clack when the levers are dropped.
I was suprised to find that the 16H does not fold, so if you need it to be compact, get the 4H or 8H.
I enjoy weaving on it. I needed some way to weave complex patterns with my hands only when my back was gving me pain, and this was a great solution. I get a good rhythm going, and I make good progress. I like the warp knobs and ratchets. A clever design!
I would buy it again!
