Don't use talcum powder! Carefully clean all the gook from the the harnesses and channel. If someone has used beeswax, oil or paraffin, try to get rid of it using a solvent that won't move the finish on the wood. Then apply silicone spray lubricant.
Same goes for any moving metal parts between the treadles and the harnesses. I have used plain rubbing alcohol (96%) as a degreaser.
I have used this on Herald Looms, Schacht, Leclerc, etc, but not a Loomcraft. Check with the manufacturer as see what he recommends.
