There were several books written about building your own looms. Most out of print books are available on the digital weaving archives site (part of AZ university) and are a good jumping off place. Also you can find a local guild and I am sure all of the weavers in the group would love to give suggestions about what they would like to see in a floor loom. I have several models and always say there are parts of all of them that I like. Do you have your fathers plans? I am sure others on this site will have suggestions for you also. Good Luck, Sharon
