I generally use 2-4 sticks to cover any knots, etc. when first rolling the warp on. Then I use heavy brown paper which I purchased years ago on a huge roll from a paper supply house...still using the same roll! You may want to try a company that sells cardboard boxes...they usually also carry heavy paper on a roll. Phyllis of Tennessee
