Counter march tie-up

Hi,
My weaving teacher told me that you can't change the tie-up on a counter march loom after you start weaving. I understand how countermarch looms work, and I don't see any reason why you couldn't change it any time you wanted, like any other loom.

Does anyone understand her statement.
