Jo Ann,

I am assuming that you are using your thin chenille in the warp??? Since you say it became weft faced and you want to see more. When projects become weft faced when you want to see an even amount of both threads or just want to see a little more of the warp the first thing to try is to adjust the sett of the warp. When projects are suppose to be weft faced the warp is usually set farther apart than for a balanced weave. When you do wraps on a ruler and take the amount wrapped in a half inch that is the set for plain weave because that leave the room for each weft thread to go under and over each warp thread. If you wanted your project to be warp faced you would set your warp closer together so you couldn't pack your weft threads down as much. You could also use a finer weft and not pack it down as much. The other thing that can effect the whether a piece is warp or weft faced vs balanced weave is the size of the threads. If if course you use a much thicker yarn for the weft than the warp you will see more weft and vice versa. Generally when using the same diameter threads for both the warp and weft you have to change to sett of the warp to make the fabric more warp or weft faced. Look at interweave press' web site and look at their yarn guide. If you can find the chenille that is the same number of yards per pound that yours is you will see three numbers next to size of the threads. The first is for a plain or balanced weave sett, the second is for a twill, and the third is for a satin. Those are good places to begin to get the right sett......the pebble weave pattern I gave you should work for any size thread if the sett is right. Good Luck,
Sharon
