Vintage J.T. Hammett Counterbalance Loom Model #401 - 4 harness, 4 rear-hinged treadle loom, approximately 31" weaving width. As this loom is quite old, despite the normal wear and tear of age, the wood has developed a beautiful patina from years of loving use. The original owner used it as a production loom for rug weaving. I acquired it from a friend, who purchased it from the original owner. I have not personally woven with it.

I do have a copy of the instruction manual that originally came with the loom. I refurbished the loom with new bolts, and Tex Solv tie-up cords. I did retain the original hardware, as well, if you prefer that. Although I do have the original reed, it has a bit of rust and will likely need to be replaced due to several bent dents. The heddles also have a tiny bit of rust, but these look like they could simply be cleaned. The front beam has a broken peg - I have the peg and it could easily be repaired. Other than those issues, this is a sturdy workhorse loom.

Pictures are available of the loom. $300 OBO. Would prefer local pickup in Arizona, but will consider shipping. I can be contacted at doaner827@hotmail.com. Thanks for looking.
