Is your drive band made of leather? It sounds like it has stretched and is now slipping when the bobbin/flyer requires more tension. More tension is needed as the bobbin fills. If there isn't any way to tighten the leather band, I would remove it and replace it with a cotton drive band. I buy cotton wrapping string from the hardware store (Walmart's usually has it, too. It will be where the balls of twine are sold.) It is also called butcher's string. It is only twisted in one direction (not cabled or braided). This way the string tends to flatten out nicely and won't jump out of your bobbin groove. Make the knot a square knot and cut the ends close to the knot. Email me back if you have any problems. I didn't know any modern wheels use leather as drive bands--leather stretches. Most wheels use the nylon stretchy bands but some use just string. String works just fine. Jessie
