The older loom is taking a fair bit of pressure on the back roller and its construction method is not perfect. the timber is starting to shred. Sure, it is repairable, but I'm thinking long term here. My next loom will be my last loom, so I want to see if I can go fully techno. In the world of the iPod, surely there's someone making looms in steel, aluminium or carbon fibre.
Oh well, it may be just a dream.
