Well, spinners. The Saxony wheel did not want to cooperate at all. It is new and I am unfamiliar with it. It was 90 degrees in the shade.
I tried to dress the flax stand, and had flax "hairs" EVERYWHERE! It was hot, sticky, very sweaty and I decided it was not worth it. I turned to my castle wheel and did wool instead. Even that was a bit of a pain. Being outdoors, the legs moved around a bit.
I am thinking of making a wooden platform for the legs to sit upon. Spinning outside at a festival, I could not find a flat place, or keep it. The ground was soft.
Does anybody have suggestions for what they rest their spinning wheel legs upon when they do this type of outdoor demonstrations? A thick rug, a sheepskin, or what? SUGGESTIONS, PLEASE????
Diana
