If you haven't woven anything in 30 years and are just getting back into the swing of things, I personally think a 46" loom is pretty big. I would lean more toward a 36" Leclerc or a Schacht Baby Wolf which weaves 26" or maybe a Harrisville 22" loom. Unless of course you plan on weaving very wide items once you get started again. If you look around you could probably find an older 36" Leclerc in good condition for somewhere between $400 - $600. The Baby Wolfs (great little portable looms) run around $700-$800 for a used one...if you can find one! The 22" Harrisville Looms can be found sometimes for $300-$400 in good shape. Hope this helps you out a little. Good luck and hope you have fun with your weaving. Phyllis
