The most inexpensive place I've found is Zeilinger Wool Co. in Michigan (and it's not all that cheap). But the thing I like about this company is that they charge you one price for washing your wool and another price for carding it instead of one price for everything as it comes in.

You can also pre-wash your wool somewhat to get out most of the dirt and lanolin (I wash my outside in cold water and get out quite a bit of "stuff.") Then I let that dry and pack that up and send it off. The prewashing makes quite a difference in the shipping cost and the amount they charge you to wash it when they receive it. After they wash and dry your wool, they weigh it again and charge you for the carding according to the new weight.

Their website is: www.zwool.com and their email address is: zwool@aol.com.

Hope this helps....good luck!
