Dear Verna, Thanks very much for your recommendation of Alden Amos wheels. I have had a pretty good idea that I would be placing a very safe bet by ordering from him. And it appears that a saxony style wheel does not have to break the bank quite! I do have a very distinct style of spinning that a custom made wheel could be useful for, for instance I never ever use a long draw, it just isn't something I have arm strenth for. I spin with my forearms resting on the arms of my wheelchair and my arms are perfectly comfortable that way, but with a long draw I am good for about 10 minutes! I also rarely ever spin a single that is thicker than what would go into a 2 ply sport weight. So a lot of the lower ratios are of no interest to me. 18 and above and with good fast effortless treadling is what I'm after. I will put your recommendation as a bee into my bonnet!
