Dear Diana, Thanks for your recommendation and it actually proves your advice about not choosing a wheel based on word of mouth. I first saw the Lendrum saxony right after it came out, at an area fiber fest and I loved how it looked, totally agree with you about the workmanship and the good price compared to the other wheels out there. But I am not able to use a double treadle wheel due to physical limitations. So I asked Gordon Lendrum if he could custom make me one with single treadle and he flat out and without hesitation refused. He told me he had no trouble finding buyers for the double treadle and he didn't need to go bothering with special orders. That was five years ago. I ended up buying a Schacht, an allright wheel in a lot of ways but not my dream that is for sure. Now I'm on the hunt again with a little more money in my paw but alas nothing quite enough for the Norm Hall wheel and I am hoping to have something new sooner than seven years. Thanks though for your reply. It helps to hear about other people's "quest"!
