Glad to see another spinner in our midst. Although I am far from your area, try sitting at your lovely new Elizabeth ( a beautiful wheela0 and just treadle. Get used to keeping an even speed, then try varying the speed. When you feel comfortable, use rovings first. Divide them into thin, pencil-like strands. With your left hand hold the roving, let your right hand pinch it-this hand will allow the twist to travel up the roving when you release it - movement is pich, pull, release (the spun yarn will travel onto the bobbin. It is hard to explain and does need practice. Good luck
