Hello,

I love to weave with mohair as well. I first tried using a 100% mohair warp on my Macomber loom, and after using almost an entire can of starch (some people recommend hairspray, conditioner, Friz-Eez hair stuff, etc.), I felt that I needed to cut the entire warp off :(

Then I purchased a Glimakra countermarche loom, thinking that, because of the way the countermarch system works by having harnesses go up and down instead of just up like on my Macomber, the mohair should unstick itself. Well, I put on a mohair warp, and that's exactly what happened. The countermarch action pulled apart the sticky mohair and creates a beautiful shed. I have never had so much fun weaving mohair.

If you don't have a countermarch loom, then definitely try using starch, hairspray, conditioner, etc. or don't use a warp that's all mohair. Mix it with other fibers. Good luck in your weaving and I hope that helped a bit :)

Joanna
