Margo,

A couple of good books:

Learning to Weave by D. Chandler: great step-by-step guide to 4-harness weaving. Like having a teacher by your side. If you want to learn how to weave on a floor loom by yourself, this is the book to get! New ed. Hdcover. $24.95.

Or

The Art of Weaving by E. Regensteiner: covers equipment, yarns, warp and weaves, pattern weaves, double weaves, design, tapestry, rugs, wall hangings, collecting and preserving textiles. Many black and white photos, a few in color. $19.95.

These are the blurbs and prices from the woolery
(http://www.woolery.com/Pages/booksweave.html)

I learned from the Art of Weaving and teach from Learning to Weave.

Either one should give you enough information to add multi shaft weaving to your skill set.

Have fun,

Martin
