Brio looms aren't bad...but they're not great either. They will serve as a good introduction to weaving, though. (I had an older model, and we had tension problems and the harnesses would not stay up while we ran the shuttle through. The newer ones may be better).

My 4 year old is a weaving fool! He took over my 12H Leclerc Dorothy, and is currently almost finished with his 3rd project. Your 7 y.o. (and yourself) should have no problems!

I highly recommend you get Deb Chandler's "Learn to Weave" book - it is a *very* good resource!
