If you just want to make a few rugs here and there, I don't see why you couldn't use your Schacht Floor loom that you have.

I just finished teaching a 3-day workshop here in Tennessee where we used Baby Wolf looms to make rag rugs as well as fleece roving rugs. Of course, you wouldn't want to use a small loom like the Baby Wolf in a "production rug" business...this would be much too harsh for this type loom. But an occasional rag rug, etc. would be okay I think.

I've heard lots of talk about "rug looms" and I'm assuming these are very heavy duty looms that can take the hard beating that a rag rug requires on a constant basis. But, like I said before, if you are just making a rug here and there, I don't see why you couldn't use your Schacht floor loom for this purpose.

Happy Weaving! Phyllis
