First the background: I bought a used Leclerc floor loom which included several shuttles. My old loom is a Kromski rigid heddle and the yarn that I use works best with an 8-dent heddle. It is obvious that none of the included Leclerc bobbin type shuttles is large enough to hold yarn of that size. The Kromski uses long, flat shuttles around which the yarn is wound from end to end.
Now the question: With thick yarn like this on the Leclerc loom, would it be best to use flat shuttles like those that work with my Kromski? Is there some other type of shuttle that I should look for?
Any information or opinions will be appreciated.
