One of my messages is not showing up Janitza,
I will try again. give me your email address again please if you can recieve.ideas are brewing.
1) I will be in Bay city and Midland Thurs through Monday.
Bring your loom. Is it able to be moved? can we work downstairs into a basement or into a garage at my folks condo.? I am going by faith here. I think, since you home school, your children can handle elders. My mother has had several strokes, and can not walk, they love children but can not handle confusion or much noise. We can work around all that. Bring a sack lunch or soup.
Would the children like to weave rag style table runners or fat cotton table runners?
I will pre wind a warp for you. Bring my workshop loom and you will have yours. They can learn to weave, take turns learning to dress a loom. winding on etc.
I normally charge a minimum of $25 per hour. I will spend up to 3 hours with you and your family. for $50.
And I will prepare a warp for you. so I am bartering three hours of my time and you are paying for two hours.
Barter. eggs, chicken, beggies, canned goods other ideas. What are your skills to trade?
2) I can drvie to your house and do the same, I wil lrequire and additional four hours of drive barter time plus gas.
I wil lbring my loom and the warping mill also to work on. I will ask for a very simple soup or light meal while I work with you. And due to my cancer and immune system comromise, I ask that no one be ill. I can not have an illness presented to me or my folks.
You will have to purchase the warp and materials.
Look up www.rmyarns.com I will tell you what to order.
we will plan table runners and place mats about 13 inches wide on an off white cotton warp. unless they find something else they really want to try out. For beginning weavers i think this is about the best.

Collect cotton sheets, chenile bed spreads, old dresses, skirts ,shirts etc. of a bout the same weight. lots of colors they like , patterns etc. Cut and tear them into 2 inch wide strips as loong as you can get them out of the fabrics you collect. Look in closets, thrift shops and askthe neighbors, A great recylcing - reuseing project, Roll each kind of strips into a ball.
And put in a box or bag and bring.
Okay your turn for ideas.
and offers.
Kathy
