I have an Allen folding loom and would be happy to send you a few photos of where the brake belongs. It does go on the right side. The wooden triangle that is moved by hand is screwed into the frame on the inside of the right leg. Mine has a length of spring which is attached to both the wooden brake and the black rubber hose. The hose is wrapped two or three times around the warp beam and looped back to the spring. If you'd like a few photos, let me know. Good luck!
