Clara, I just found this site today! I teach knitting here in Michigan for the Adult Ed Program in my school district. I also spin for pleasure. I was just interested in asking you a question for some helpful hints. I've been asked to do a spinning demonstration for a large group of 4th grade students. I know they are not old enough to keep their interest in the workings of a wheel, however, I thought a 30 min. explanation of where wool comes from, having examples of roving, some carding and then a brief spin on the wheel would be sufficient. I need to keep their attention for 30 Mins. Do you have any suggestions???? I am so used to teaching adults, not children, that I had hoped to find someone who has taught children. Even though this is a demo, not a class, I thought I would run this by you. Hope to hear from you--I have 3 days to prepare...Thanks. L
